Fresh Start Challenge Day 9: Kiss the Girl

My last kiss was underwater. Wayne and I went to the dragon boat races. It was a beautiful day (yay tan!) And Wayne and them came in third again... for the second year in a row.

We took Faith to Odette's and Chris's house in Tuscaloosa. We loved having a mini vacation as a family. It was so much fun. We played Disney music the entire time dancing and laughing. Wayne and I flirted all day and it felt so amazing. It felt like we were teenagers splashing water on each other and when he pulled me under and started kissing me it was heaven.

I have to say that ranks better than kissing the rain.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 8: Who We Are

I rarely stress. Though I am not as laid back as +Carolina.

Wayne and I already have a house that is fully furnished and everything is perfect including two game rooms for him.

My past is finally gone. I only have to worry about memories.

My family is happy and so am I.

I have one heck of job. I do something I love, with people I love dearly.

So no I am not worrying about anything right now.

Sure Faith, my daughter just spent the night in the hospital but the good Lord made her better and we are home tonight.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 7: Filling In The Pieces

I was born to an Alabamian and a Louisianian.
I have one true real sibling.

My real parents died in a car crash when I was just 3 months old. My mom's sister adopted me and I never knew I had different parents besides my aunt and her first husband. I mean I look like my siblings and stuff except for my eyes.

I found out last year when things started to not measure up looking at different papers. My parents had always told me that my last name was unique to me. Other people had said I was adopted but I ignored them (I am not apologizing if you are reading this.) My aunt finally told me the truth that she wasn't my biological mom, but that I was her daughter. That shocked me bad enough.

What I was prepared was Wayne. Wayne came into my life almost as soon as I moved to Huntsville. He is our preacher and it was strange to have your preacher ask you out on a date but it went amazingly.

Then his world crashed. His ex girlfriend from the year before during his last year of college shows up with a baby girl. She's Wayne's. Tested and everything. I never saw the ex girlfriend when she dropped off Faith. She gave full custody right to Wayne. I fell absolutely in love with Faith. Faith started calling me mama right away.

Wayne and I broke up for stupid reasons and we have moved past that. Our little family was all and well until I was scanning important documents to put in a fire safe box. Erin Leblanc was listed as Faith's mother. I freaked out. I didn't tell anyone right away. I simply asked my aunt/mom could I have the papers about my family.

Faith's mom is my sister. My older sister. I asked Wayne if he knew. He said he was thinking possibly cousins but didn't want to cause trouble. But now we know that Faith is so close to being my daughter it's amazing! Faith is blood to me and that means amazing things for me.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 6: Fight!

Wayne and I have our ups and downs many times.

We had our disagreements about his past and mine.

Our biggest downfall was when my cousin wiggled her way between us.

We found our way back together.

I love how dorky he is. I love how devoted he is to all games and not just certain ones.

I love how passionate he is about his job. I mean we have the highest college age attendance in the southeast!

He is smile is adorable.

The food he makes is incredible.

Plus he is an awesome dad to Faith.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 5: Annoying but Cute

I love him but I do grumble about these things but at the same time they are cute..

  • Quoting The Hunchback of Notre Dame. He thinks I look like Esmeralda.
  • Singing 80s music. Seriously stop showing your age I feel like a baby in a crib.
  • No we cannot do the whole house in game stuff. I would like people to think you have a life outside of preaching and games. Seriously act like a guy and not a nerd.
  • Stop using me for human lounges.
  • Stop making spaghetti we have a child under 2! It's going to end up on the ceiling every time.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 4: Sleepwear

I hate wearing pants to sleep in. I always sleep in a nightie, sleep shirt, or I just take off whatever pants I wore and crawl in the bed. I hate for my pants to get twisted in my sleep. I wake up scared, screaming and sweating. Sometimes I can get away with wearing short shorts to bed. They are better than pants.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 3: Give and You Will Receive

I have a big heart so I love to donate my time and money to organizations that I really support. I think it's a shame that people feel like when they fall victim that certain organizations are just suppose to step in and help them. That's how it usually is but that's not how it should be.

  1. Being a Tri Delta I support St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. We were teamed up with them back in 1999. We have accomplished so much as a sorority to help and expand. I was supporting St. Jude's Hospital long before college. I love their personal address labels. I send 5% of each of my checks to them. I send it directly so that I know they get the full amount. Someone that I love dear has been three different times with his battle for cancer. He is a warrior and a very brave soul. All of these children deserve a chance to live normal lives.
  2. In high school I was given 3 rubber bracelets. I was told to wear them for dating abuse. I laughed and scoffed at it. Then I was the victim and getting out of a relationship like that isn't easy. People don't realize what a problem like that does to a person and how it really hurts the ones around them as well. It makes trusting someone in the future and those around them so much more difficult. So knowing that 1 out of every 3 young adult has been a victim of dating abuse is really huge. I wear my crocheted bracelets often or as an anklet. This became so important to me that I went to school to help children and teens with this problem. Today, I am counselor and I help and donate to the The Break The Cycle Movement.
  3. Another cause that is very dear to me is March of Dimes. I love to do their marches. It feels really good knowing that simply just walking helps so many moms. Each step is figurative step closer to finding out answers. It means so much to moms everywhere.
  4. And donate Toys for Tots. I start early in the year and find toys on sale. It makes it so much better than having to fight a mad rush. I love doing Angel Trees too from the Salvation Army.
  5. And lastly I help out with the soup kitchen. The one I serve does two meals a day and helps cloth and shelter the people who are homeless in the community. I help out twice a week.

Fresh Start Challenge Day 2: Batter Up!

I love cookie dough and batters. I have literally made a cake mix and just ate the dough. Yes, even with the eggs mixed in. I love it, it's delicious. When I'm home alone or no one is looking I will make batter and eat it. Sometimes even when everyone is around I'll make cupcakes and then pour some of the batter just for me in a small bowl.

My favorite place to go is Coldstone Ice Cream. Cake Batter ice (seriously taste EXACTLY like cake batter and thank you +Hunter Collins  for introducing me to this) and they have cookie dough toppings. It's like destined salmonella poisoned person's dream come true.

Day 7: Cancer

I used to read my horoscope every day. I used to believe there was fact behind it but then once you start really looking at what they give you. I can pretty much be a common day. It's really weird to think your future is share with so many others and it's not specifically for you.

Day 5: Shred

I have tried to kill myself several times.

My boyfriend before Wayne, was cruel. Cruel doesn't really cover it either.
Sardonic sadist is what the police called him. There are mounds of pictures and videos I hope no one ever sees and that terrifies me too.

I left him and he swore he was going to torture me to death.

I was afraid he would come after me and I attempted suicide twice and the third time I landed myself in the hospital.

They caught him and I am cure of the fear of him finding me again. However, the feeling of being used and completely stripped of the dignity is something I am still struggling with to this very day.
